ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮਾ Daily Hukamnama
The Hukamnama taken at the Gurdwara Sahib, with English translation and Punjabi viakhya.
ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥
Shalok, Third Mehla:
ਹਸਤੀ ਸਿਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਅੰਕਸੁ ਹੈ ਅਹਰਣਿ ਜਿਉ ਸਿਰੁ ਦੇਇ ॥
The elephant offers its head to the reins, and the anvil offers itself to the hammer;
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਕੁੰਡਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਹਰਣ (ਵਦਾਨ ਹੇਠਾਂ) ਸਿਰ ਦੇਂਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਆਗੈ ਰਾਖਿ ਕੈ ਊਭੀ ਸੇਵ ਕਰੇਇ ॥
just so, we offer our minds and bodies to our Guru; we stand before Him, and serve Him.
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਮਨ (ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ) ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ;
ਇਉ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਰਾਜੁ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਾ ਲੇਇ ॥
This is how the Gurmukhs eliminate their self-conceit, and come to rule the whole world.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਗਵਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ।
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਇ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, the Gurmukh understands, when the Lord casts His Glance of Grace. ||1||
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਦੋਂ ਹਰੀ ਆਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਦੋਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸਮਝ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ
